Dear Todd James,
I can't believe I am saying this already, but, I am. Happy Anniversary, Babe. We have now been married for a whole year.
On our wedding day, this milestone seemed so far away. I thought it would never get here. But it's here. And it came fast. Just look how times flies. We are no longer newlyweds, in the traditional sense of the term. We are now just an old married couple. For real. And man o man look at all that has happened in the past year...
And I love it.
I love waking up next to your handsome (mouth open) face each day. I love falling asleep beside you each night. I love crashing on the couch with you after a long day. I love knowing that I can be myself around you. And I love knowing that you are yourself around me. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I love your kind eyes. I love your manly hands ;). I love your unruly, ungodly thick curly "jew" hair (and hope our children get it one day). I love your tendency to correct all my grammar and poke fun at my miss Annunciation. I love the look you get on your face when you concentrate. I love knowing exactly what you wore for work each day, even if I didn't see you in the morning- as each item of clothing lays on the floor as if you literally just stepped out of them. I love your craziness. I love your tendency to have no patience and stubbornness, as neither of us can claim these traits.
Thank you for being my best friend. Thank you for being my rock. Thank you for being my biggest supporter and most constant fan. Thank you for working so hard for us. Thank you for spoiling me. Thank you for making my world a better place. Thank you for being you.
The best thing I ever did was marry you. I will never regret it. I can't wait to see what the next year hold for us. We have been so blessed in the past year, I can't imagine it being any better- but somehow it always is. I never thought it was possible to be so in love with a man and the truth is- my love for you continually grows deeper with each day.
Love you,
Nicole

Hustle n Bustle...
Monday, monday, monday... It's already a rough day coming back to work from the weekend, but it was even more tough coming back following a great getaway... But, I honestly can say that I love my job and actually look forward to going into work everyday. =)
Jim's been putting in a lot of hours at work lately- starting his day around 5:15 and not getting home till 7:30 which means late dinner =/ and then I work 4-10s so I usually don't get home till 5:30-6 depending on traffic. Usually buys me a little time to prepare dinner and or get some stuff done around the house ( watching my TV shows) =) but this whole eating dinner at 7:30 is not fun. I'm no longer young and burning a ton of calories and being super physically active to the point it doesn't matter what I eat or what time I eat.. Because clearly my body thinks otherwise.. So i am starting my new years resolution early!! After I post this, I plan to run on the eliptical =) (i'll keep you updated if it really happens)
This past Friday, our beautiful little niece- Maylynn Janine had her surgery to reverse her Colostomy. She is such a tough little ladybug and am so proud to be her Auntie!!
-My brother and Jaclyn took her in on Thursday where they put her on IV's and would begin to clean out her system in prep for surgery (friday morning at 9:30). It breaks my heart to see such an innocent little girl hooked up to all the wires etc. but none the less, we all knew it was for the best. I mean regardless, she was twice as cute rockin the nose tube, and baby electrodes!! =)
She did great in surgery and will continue to have a little bit of recovery time . She slept basically all day Friday and Saturday morning when we visited her, she decided to wake up for us for about 45minutes! She will continue to have an IV to stay hydrated- and have her catheter removed Sunday morning! Once she has her first bowel movement she will finally be able to eat!!! I received a text, stating "she passed some gas" YAY!! Not to often do you get excited about passing gas, let alone from a girl! then to wait again for the next bowel movement to be able to come home!
Jimmy and I planned to take care of Reese (big brother) while everyone was up at the hospital, and boy did we have fun!! That little boy just adores his "Uncle WimWim" we played lots, watched a turtle movie and then took both Talan and Reese to faithful little cupcakes for a treat (and giving a special treat to my best friend, Jessi for her birthday) We went to Ramseyer's farm and let the boys pick out there own pumpkin, and of course one for Maylynn too! They both felt the need to pull a wagon- men... lol I'm pretty sure I enjoyed it just as much as they did! We went to the football game friday evening to watch Jimmy's little brother Chase play. THEY WON!!! ha ha they've had a rough season, but its one more game closer to basketball season! =) My mom spoiled us and had lots of goodies, and homemade meals ready basically anytime of the day for the whole weekend- Hot ham n swiss sandwhiches, Kraft parkay bars, Lasagna... deliciousness!! And Saturday night we went over to see Jessi and Zachs new house and dinner to celebrate Jessi's birthday!! =) Love spending time with them, and its really funny because the silly things that go on at our house- i've realized go on at there house too =) Love married life!!
After 4 loads of laundry, and cleaning the house and doing a little shopping today- I am ready for bed ha ha o0o0o and I got to make Pumpkin cheesecake cupcakes! ( i love baking) Tomorrow is our 1yr. wedding anniversary, I would let you all know what I got my husband but he likes to read my blog and CRITIQUE it, so we shall keep it a secret till after our dinner date tomorrow night! =)
Please continue to keep Maylynn in your thoughts and prayers!! Thank you!!!

...continued
After venturing through Cade's Cove, and on our way out, Jimmy decided to pull off and take a nice little hiking trip to end the day! Needless to say we litterally ended the day hiking! ha ha We started off and it was nice and completly secluded deep within one of the smokies, I started to get really nervous and envisioned us on one of those tv shoes "when vacations attack" and was thinking every terrible think as we were on this hike and getting further and further into the thick of the path. Luckily for me, I have the best man ever whom calmed me down and said " you really think I would let a bear eat you in front of me?" ha ha needless to say his little pep talk and the fact that I know he would let the bear eat him first before me encouraged me to push onward!!
-This hike (which I hate hiking) turned into a 7 mile hike and basically ALL UPHILL!!! (i'm sweating and flustered re-thinking this) we continued, and continued, and continued on this wretched path and finally came to a breaking point with signs informing you of which path to continue on. Well unfortunately the genius husband of mine had no idea what path we were on in the first place!! So myself, being the smart one of the pair ;), whipped out my phone and whattya know one lonely spot we had service!! Opened up MAPS and found the road in which are car was parked! (YAY!!!) Jimmy was persistant we go on the path that was going AWAY from the road and I said no way we've already been walking forever why would we walk away from the road?!?!?
Wellllll... We concluded that Jim was probably right- we are not entirely sure because my idea of heading towards the road was not good! Upon reaching the road, our car was no where in sight (I was pooped at this point) whipped out that lovely map again and realized we needed to walk along the road, UPHILLl.... that walk uphill turned into exactly 2.1 miles after our 3hr hike in the mountains... We were so0o incredibly exhausted and I don't think I have ever been as excited to see my baby civic before in my entire life!! =)
After a much needed relaxing Hot Tub date- we got ready and headed for Gatlinburg for the evening. We stopped by "The Ole Moonshine" factory had a few samples and man o man that stuff is strong!! Not something I would ever spend money on!! We did a little wine tasting too and man homemade wine is much better than that Kroger kind we get;) ha ha
-Consumed dinner at Mellow Mushroom, which was extra yummy considering I am pretty sure we burnt off 2days worth of calories from our hike earlier in the day.
And ended the evening in ME, yup thats right ME beating jimmy twice in some billiards!! I made some pretty awesome shots which I know I could never do again even if I tried. Thats what you get for being so confident Mr. Moyer!! ;) DEFEAT!!
Friday-
We ventured off to Clingman's Dome for the majority of the day- We knew we had to be back atleast by 3 as we had dinner reservations so after sleeping in (exhausted from our hike the day before) we had roughly 4hrs to explore.
The trip up to clingmans dome (via car) would take an hour. We would travel to the highest point in Tenneessee. Again there were multiple "pull-offs" along the way to sight see and take pictures! In which we took our ritual "O-H-I-O" pictures. However, we each only do the "O-H-I" because then we each have an "O" to make up the picture we need. Anndd we got lots of chuckles from people and "OOO i see in OHIO they can't spell" hardy har har...
Anywho- we finally made it all the way to the top (so i thought) and it was so0o0o incredibly windy we each put on a few extra layers! Crazy how it was sunny and hot and then on top of the mountain windy, no sun and "smoky" I then realized exactly why it was called the Smoky Mountains =) (go ahead and laugh, it's ok)
-So we then had a .5 mile walk up to the top, (no big deal right) RIGHT... This was litterally straight uphill and after that hike the day before our bodies were a little sore, tender, fatigued, and definately feeling old and out of shape! and I found myself completly "sucking air" as if I was dieing ha ha the change in climate and elevation really messed with my breathing. Jim got quite a good laugh out of it! and finally we made it to the top!!! You know I think it all would have been worth it if you could have actually seen someting!! Nothing, I mean nothing not even the SUN!! Everything was very dead looking, desilate and just not taken care of but atleast we can say we have been to Clingman's Dome, 6600ft the highest point in Tenneessee!!
On our travel home, we stopped to hike to Bluff's cave- we didn't make it, too long of a hike and only 40minute allowance due to dinner. We took lots of pretty pictures of streams, waterfalls and the scenery. Then it was time to venture back and get ready for the DIXIE STAMPEDE!!
The Dixie Stampede was absolutely AWESOME, I want to go again!! I know Talan and Reese would love it and if we went back this time next year Maylynn will be almost 2 and I know she would love it too! It was awesome, you were fed a 4 course meal and you had to consume everything my fingers/hands. The elderly couple beside us, obviously wasn't there first rodeo ;) brought plastic silverwear! So cute! Everything was delicious, the show was spectacular and just an awesome evening!
Jim wanted to do a little putt putt, which I am always up for a little competition (plus i was feeling bad for beating him at billiards) He unfortunately ended up beating me by 3 strokes, rightfully so I mean golf is his thing, not mine. YET anyways! However, I did have 2 hole in ones! =)
Saturday-
Unfortunately today we had to check out by 10am- so we packed up and were headed home but we had one last stop!!!
I had been dieing to do horseback riding and Jim agreed to do so!! I was super excited and couldn't wait! The stables didn't open up till 10am so luckily for me the Tanger outlets was litterally right across the street! and we had roughly 45minutes to spend! Jimmy being the courteous choufer that he is, just happened to pull into NIKE outlet first! ha ha a man after my heart and SOLE ;) ;)
Anyone who knows me, the avid tennishoe lover, obsessed with tennishoes always wanting new and anyone who knows jimmy, the frugal, green eyed monster NO lover =) For the 9yrs, that we have been together Jimmy has not once, ever supported or agreed on my tennishoe obsession let alone ever approve or me buying new ones. He had the same pair of tennishoes for like 3yrs and mind you they looked 10yrs old. Where my tennishoes all look nice and new because I have plenty to alternate =) Anywho, JIMMY AGREED, APPROVED and bought me tennishoes!!!! I'm not sure what I was more excited about my new nike's or the fact that it only took 9yrs for my husband to tell me YES!! ha ha
So back to Horseback riding. as thrilled as I was, the closer I got to these magnificent creatures I became a little frightened! These things are HUGE, and I am just a litttllleee bit scared of heights. Ok a lot scared! I finally got on one for the "inexperienced rider" whose name was River... She was pleseant and the ride was enjoyable and soooo incredbily peaceful!! My horse struggled and made me feel uncomfortable going down hills, she needed a little motivation and I continually felt as though any minute my poor horse legs were going to buckle and would just be a chain reaction. I liked to think of her "limp" or difficulty going down hill as the swagger limp lol Jim said that if I had seen my horse do this that there would be no way I would be on that horse. We made it back in once piece thankfully and i enjoyed it! Would love to do it again- even peeked an interest and had be daydreaming of actually having my own horse! =)
We had a wonderful trip, so much fun, so many memories that I couldn't imagine spending it with anyone else or anywhere else. I am looking forward to many more adventures with the man of my life, my best friend.. My husband!! Happy 1yr Anniversary babe!

10.14.12- The Southern Experience
10.14.12
So after an adventerous trip to Tenneessee to celebrate our 1yr anniversary, we are taking the day to relax and I guess me catch up on loads and loads of laundry =/.. Over the past week we have created soo many memories to last a lifetime, that I can't even imagine how I will ever remember all of them considering that it was only 1wk of our lives and look how quickly our first year went! So I decided to start blogging! Along w/ capturing pictures along the way but being able to keep family and frineds in the loop as much as possible no matter how far away we are!
We traveled to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg Tenneessee for our anniversary and it was absolutely beautiful! We stayed in this cute little cabin way up in the smoky mountains and although it wasn't a GREAT view it still was beautiful and i mean you only sleep in it anyways! We had sooo many things that we wanted to do while we were there and Hiking was #1 on Jimmy's list. Boy o' Boy lemme tell you we did quite the hiking too...
We started our day off going to Cade's Cove, it is an 11 mile loop within/around the Smoky Mountains and there tends to be lots of "Bear Jams" and basically your in bumper to bumper traffic the whole time but you have the most unbelievable view the whole entire time that you don't even realize your sitting in traffic. If only traffic was like this in Columbus "sigh" There are pull-offs along the way where you can stop and take pictures as well as tiny cabins and barns where people in the olden days lived and have been restored etc.
-We stopped at a little church/cemetery known to have bears at the location- we sat in on a little history session where the man informed us of how the church was built and that to look up at the ceiling and you could see hand prints of all sizes on the wood as they had to hold the ceiling in place while they were building it! It was pretty neat- I don't remember anything else really as I became bored. Jim decided to go off the beaten path and do a little hiking as he was tired of sitting in the car, which yea ok that sounded great! As we were hiking, jim decided he had to go to the bathroom-lovely, if only it were that easy for us women out in the woods!! He wanted to go up to the top of the hill so he couldn't see any people, understandable- I stopped dead in my tracks, scared of the grumbeling that I heard and sure enough it was a baby cub ehhh about 30ft away, I was scared and pretty sure I pee'd down my leg at this point! At the Information desk that inform you to stay 50yards away from the bears and to not cross paths/break the scent between the bear and the momma. 2 problems!! The cub was a wopping 30ft away and well the momma was no where to be seen and the only way BACK to the car was to go pass the cub in our trail and break the mommas scent.. I was soo scared! After Jim did his business we walked back, slowly, quietly that I don't even think I was breathing! I am just about even with bear in the path and suddenly hear loud noise and look over and 4 deer have been alarmed and are running our way- scared off the bear and I was ready to make a mad dash because I know that deer do not FLAG there white tail for the fun of it!! We finally made it back to the car and I was thankful!!
Adventures to be continued....later (after I help jimmy with cleaning up)
