M&M at 18wks!!

Yay for the awesomeness that comes with the second trimester!!
I thought I felt pretty good the first trimester and only complained of migraines but now looking back I have sooooo much more energy and am super happy!

I have had a few breakdown moments that I will get to a little later but overall I have thoroughly enjoyed my pregnancy and am so excited for what is in store!!

We had an appointment last friday morning and the baby has a super strong LOUD heartbeat at 153beats per minute =) There is nothing greater than hearing that comforting "swooshing" sound. No better way to start your morning off!

We go back in 2wks and we get to find out whether M&M is a boy or girl and I am so0o0o excited and axious!!!
-What do you think???

So as i mentioned earlier, I indeed have had a few breakdowns and my husbands biggest question to me is always why are you crying? He doesn't ever ask are you ok? is there anything I can do?
so i finally looked at him w/ red eyes and tears and said for future reference don't ever ask me why i'm crying because honestly I don't know why I am crying. I am annoyed that I am even crying which in return makes me cry more. lol he looked at me and was like seriously? lol But for the record i've only done this 3times now and its just super annoying!

Future baby daddys: the BEST advice I can give you is to: NEVER ask your wife why she is crying because she doesn't have an answer as to why, and you questioning her will just make her even more upset- so instead ask her if she is ok? or if you can do anything =)

I will update soon as the big gender reveal appointment is scheduled for May 3rd =) =)

How far along?  18weeks
Total weight gain/loss?  I have currently only gained 6 pounds =).
Maternity clothes?  Only jeans- all my dress clothes still fit and shirts- jeans arn't so giving in the waist ;)
Stretch marks? None, thank goodness.
Sleep?  I seem to be sleeping pretty well- Husband has informed me that sense I have been pregnant I make this so called "whimpering" noise right as I am falling asleep (clearly I have no recollection of this) so I have convinced him that its the baby talking to him =)
Best moment last week? Hearing M&M's strong heartbeat 153!
Movement?  I have felt lots of "fluttering" the best way to describe it, is as if you have captured a butterfly in your hand =)
Food cravings?  I went through a stage of wanting salty- now I am on to sweets and lately I've wanted to eat lots of salads and with italian dressing! Yummy!
Gender? Find out soon!!! May 3rd! CAN'T WAIT!!!
Labor signs? Negative!
Belly button in/out? Innie- and I mark my words that My belly button will not pop out! It is so far innie that I can't even see where it ends ha ha.
What I miss: Being useful.  I wish i was in that nesting stage- I haven't gotten there yet .
What I am looking forward to: our next appointment!!!
Milestones: Waiting to get an actual noticable "bump" so people don't think i've just gained weight =)

Scrapbookin' Cards

Just a few of my favorite cards I made-
All items were made w/ my Cricut and misc. cartridges as well as Cuddle Bug.

My all time favorite birthday card so far =)
I rolled up a $1 bill for my Niece's 1st birthday as a candle =)

These next few are parts of Bridal Shower invitations for an "around the clock" themed shower.

Nursery decor

We have established that there is something in the water at work. =)
Someone is always pregnant and it seems as though before one woman goes into labor, another one or two people announce they are pregnant!
Since I have worked at my awesome job (2.5yrs) there has ALWAYS been one woman pregnant, and at one time 3 pregnant women =)

With that being said, there are lots of "potlucks" and lots of baby showers!!

This is one of the gifts I did for one of my co-workers.
She provided me w/ the fabric as her mother created the crib bedding and so for her nursery décor, we wanted to make sure the fabrics matched.

This is the finished product for Mary's cute little nursery!

Supplies you will need:

All items can be purchased from Michales/JoAnn Fabrics

  • -Fabric
  • -Canvas
  • - Fabric Glue
  • -Hot glue gun
  • -Letters
  • -Paint/Brush
To begin- gather all of your fabric choices and depending on the size of Canvas you chose you want to make sure the fabric is sized larger than the canvas so you are able to pull the fabric up and fold (later in tutorial)

Ironed

You want to lay "pretty" fabric side down and lay canvas on the back side of fabric- at this time you will begin to pull your fabric up to "wrap" around the canvas frame. You will want to place a generous amount of fabric glue and mixture of hot glue along the border of the canvas right before you wrap you canvas w/ fabric.

The corners can be tricky, and to be honest each one of them is a little different- be sure to play around w/ the corner fabric pieces and find a fold that looks best or to your likings.

*** the trick to making the PERFECT corners is to not glue along the edges. leave at least 2finger tip length around each corner when you are gluing the fabric to canvas.

Once you have figured out exactly how you want to proceed w/ your corners, make sure you put LOTS of hot glue and fabric glue so your corners don't peel up! =)

Here is one corner on one of my canvases, but if you look at the next picture it is slightly different.
It honestly doesn't matter as long as they are pulled tight and don't stand a chance of peeling up =)

-The next step is to glue your letters on to the front.
(Before I began any of the process, I painted the letters w/ white paint as momma to be had requested.) You can buy the letters in black or white, but a lot of them have knicks or scratches so a little bit of paint to touch em up all over never hurt!!
*If you find letters w/ knicks and scratches, feel free to use that to your advantage upon checking out, I usually ALWAYS get mine at a discounted price. In the end it doesn't matter as They are painted and fixed good as new!

Make sure you map out and figure out exactly how you want your letters to sit on your canvas(ex. centered, off to the left/right)

Once you have figured it out "paint" your fabric glue GENEROUSLY on the back of your letter and follow up w/ hot glue gun over that!
Continue the process till you have finished each canvas.

While drying, I like to flip them over so the letters are down and place something super heavy over top for some added pressure!

Momma to be loved her nursery décor for her bundle of joy- here are some pictures of the completed project in little miss Mary's room!

Here is another canvas art I had done previously:

Better late than never right? =)

So clearly I haven't been blogging much (at all really) and I have a ton of stuff that I need to catch up on/post. Which I promise I will do!

New Year- New beginnings....

So I have been MIA lately, and I contribute a large amount of that due to lack of computer. We are still in the hunt for the "perfect computer" Any ideas/suggestions would be great! Plus I think a lot of it has to do w/ my frugal and perfectionist husband. Not only trying to find the perfect deal but also the perfect computer that has anything and everything we need! Love that man!

So 2013 has been great so far, can't complain too much. I will update later. I thought to humor you all as well as myself I would do this 2013 New Year Questionnaire that was being passed along.... Enjoy

1. What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before? I flew/traveled by my lonesome!! I was super scared/nervous but everything went "smoothly"

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I enjoy the prospect of making a change in your life and the fresh start of a new year. I'll continue to make resolutions year after year and although I may not "keep" them I try really hard to do better!

3. What countries did you visit?

CANADA!! So i totally started to write that I didn't travel to any other country but that classifies as a country considering I needed my passport =)

4. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
A continued "careless" attitude when it comes to gossip or unworthy material in my life.
I love what I do, who I am, and what I stand for- I shouldn't care what others think of how I carry myself =)

7. What was your biggest failure?
Letting other get to me in regards to how I live my life, how I carry myself.

8. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I wouldn't classify it as illness considering I thought it was the trypical "sore throat" until I woke up one morning with a large "lump" on the back of my throat. I had one of my awesome docs take a peek on a monday, was prescribed some meds, re-evaluated on wednesday and symptoms had gotten worse and I was scheduled for a lovely Tonsillectomy that Friday!
First ever experience of Surgery and man o man lemme tell you it was tough but I have soooo much more energy! Very thankful for where I work and my awesome doc/surgeon!

9. What was the best thing you bought?
hmmm this is a toughy- I would probably say our new TV, because now I don't have to watch up in bed while Jim enjoys the living room =)

As I'm sure I'll say this every year along w/ everyone else in the world - winning the lottery. I don't need to be rich but I'd like to be free =)

27. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?

I went for classic styles for work, when I wasn't in scrubs =) and of course comfy for home

28. What kept you sane?

My husband and starbucks.. but the biggest thing is the love I have for my adorable munchkins!!! Love my neice and nephews!

29. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
not sure i really "fancied" him but I always enjoy Patrick Dempsey and he can save me anyday ;)

31. Who did you miss?
My friends and family, but more than anything, a particular friendship. I understand things change, people change, relationships change and i've come to accept that but at the same time, I miss it and wish things weren't the way the are or that I feel the way I do. But i'm sure its just me =)

Like minded people (even with differing opinions) are always a blessing.

Money, Money, Money...

I was beyond excited to head to the new casino down here in lovely CBUS along w/ my frugal husband and my slot machine loving parents!! I was excited for numerous reasons:
1. My first experience was fun up in Michigan with my parents and I loved it so knowing that together we were all going had be thrilled.
2. Brand new entertainment possibilities for visitors when they come down!
3. Seeing how my frugal husband will do in a situation where you just put money into a machine or on a table not knowing the outcome aside from more than likely losing it all!
4. My parents seem to always be lucky even if its minimal- so to experience the possibilities of excitement and the hope of winning big right?

-The "Hollywood Casino" is beyond awesome- it's huge and like you step into a whole other world when you walk through the doors! I was impressed to say the least! We did not win big unfortunately, nor did we win at all ha ha and Jim of all people went to the ATM @ the casino for more money ha ha I was flabbergasted! And it was a $5 charge as well as $40 minimum. ( so much for only $20 more dollars) ;) We truly only played the slot machines and HOTSHOTS is my favorite! o0oh and the 1cent slots too boot! Regardless, your money goes quickly! But playing HOTSHOTS you had so0o0 many opportunities to win and well the suspense music it played as you pressed the "max button: was a thrill in its self and if you hit the "hot shot" that alone in its self was like winning! Loved standing over my moms shoulder cheering her on and getting excited over winning a whopping $1.40 at times!!
Dad, Jim and myself found ourselves watching mom most of the evening following our losing as her money count continued to rise unlike ours! She must just have a touch!! None the less we had so0o0o much fun and I can't wait to go again!! Hopefully soon! Any visitors wanna come down?

-After following a long work morning- I was ready to enjoy some mother/daughter time and I know Jim was excited to help my dad cut up/stack some wood!
Mom and I traveled around getting some supplies for a project she/we are working on- did some birthday shopping for Maybug, mom got some new shoes, looked at ideas for christmas gifts and all in all just spending some good quality time together. That woman is beyond amazing and I couldn't be more thankful to have such a great mother- I hope to one day be as good of a mother as she has been to all of us kids and goodness not to mention what a great MAMA she is to my handsome nephews and beautiful niece!! With that being said, my dad is SUPER DAD!!! He works hard at this job and he is just a phenomenal hard worker! After putting in long extensive hours at work allllll week, he was willing and basically a machine cutting up 3 trees and then together Jim and him stacking all of it! I love my parents and love having them visit t-and hate when our time comes to an end (and I feel like it goes quickly because we always have such a great time)

Following shopping the boys showered, and we all went to eat at Logans Steakhouse- pretty good, parentals meal wasn't perfect and or ordered correctly so they got a meal for free! We had a wonderful waiter and well I enjoyed my food! After the casino- Mom treated to ice cream!! It was yummy and a perfect ending to a perfect day!! Looking forward to the holidays with family and next family visit!!
